End of Year Fun!

Oh my goodness!!  This year went by in a FLASH! We had such a great end of the year.  We participated in Minute-to-Win-It activities, created ice ream sundaes, and participated in our annual Water Day.  On the last day of Kindergarten, we celebrated our school-wide Mass, received our certificates of Kindergarten  Completion, and ended the year with pictures to see how much we had grown.  LOOK OUT FIRST GRADE, 'CAUSE HERE WE COME!!!

Field Trip and Field Day

What a great Spring!  We visited the Environmental Studies Center where we learned about a lot of different animals. We even got to pet a corn snake (if we wanted to)!  We learned about owls, opossums, snakes, eagles, deer, etc., and learned which species we belong to.

We enjoyed a beautiful day when we had our annual SPX Field Day.  There were lots of activities for us to compete in.  We got to have a picnic in our classroom, which was really cool.  We then joined the rest of the school in a sing-along in which each class was responsible for a song.  What creative teachers and students we have at St. Pius! To top the day off, we enjoyed a Color Run.  It is really cool to "look like a rainbow".

A Start to a New School Year

I want to welcome you to SPX Kindergarten.  I hope each of you had a fantastic summer and are ready to begin a fabulous year.  I promise a year filled with fun, excitement, and LOTS of learning!  I am thrilled to have you in my class. I can not wait to meet each one of you.  See you soon!:)

What's Happening in Kindergarten?

We are so busy in Kindergarten.  Check out the slideshow and see how much fun Kindergarten learning really
can be!!

An Awesome Beginning

We had an awesome beginning of Kindergarten starting with the Book Drop Off. The children were allowed to visit the classroom for the first time to meet the teacher and drop off supplies.  We then gathered for a special Mass in which the students were given a special blessing.  We then gathered in the gym for our first school get together, a Glow Party.  What fun!

The first day of Kindergarten was special.  We were all a little anxious, excited, nervous, and happy, all at the same time.  Lots of smiling students. moms, and dads appeared at the door ready for their new adventure.  The parents were treated to treats in the Sarto Center while their children settled in their classes. At the end of the half day, everyone was glad to be back at home at SPX.  Go Cardinals!!

What a Great December

What a GREAT December.  We studied about the Baby Jesus' birthday being the reason for the season.  We practiced for our program, The Christmas Story, that we performed for the entire school and our parents,as well as for the Christmas Eve Mass.  What a great job the students did!

Pre-Schoolers and Kindergartners were visited by Santa and enjoyed "Breakfast With Santa", where the jolly old man read us the story, The Night Before Christmas.  He listened to each one of us tell him what we really wanted and he surprised us with a candy cane before leaving on his sleigh.  Afterwards, we gave our moms their Christmas gifts of a painted canvas Christmas tree.  Isn't giving presents to someone you love a great feeling?

We had a picnic lunch in the classroom, because of the weather.  It was still fun because we viewed the video, Annabelle's Wish, while enjoying our meal.  What a wonderful story and day.  Merry Christmas to all!!

Thanksgiving Time

What a great month of November.  The Kindergartners and their buddies, the Pre-K 4 students, practiced really hard for our Thanksgiving Program that we put on for the student body on Monday (as a rehearsal) and for the parents on Tuesday. The students surprised Mrs. Garner with a birthday cookie cake that was eaten by all (Yum! Yum!).  We ended the month by joining together with the Preschoolers in celebrating a wonderful feast that was put together by our GREAT parents.  We are so blessed to have great friends, parents, and the many blessings from God!
