I cannot think of a time when St. Pius X was not an integral part of my life. I was baptized here in 1960 and haven’t left the place since! I attended school here from kindergarten through 8th grade and was very active in the CYO during high school. College did tend to occupy most of my time for 4 years, but as soon as I graduated I jumped right back in as a 2nd grade teacher.  I married Jim Alvarez, an SPX alumnus, in 1984, and our son, Jake  (now 26 years old and recently married to Matrisza Wallace) attended St. Pius X from K - 8th grade.

I have now worked at St. Pius X for 28years, the last 12 as Principal.  I feel I owe it to everyone who had a part in my education here, and to those who entrust their children to us now, to not only provide a quality, Catholic education, but to also build on the spirit of community and teamwork that permeates our parish.  My faculty and staff work hard to give each child what they need to be successful - academically, spiritually, and socially. Our parents give so much of themselves to help provide many of the “extras” that make learning fun. Reverend Savoie, Reverend Vrazel and the School Advisory Board are very supportive and actively involved in the mission of SPX. I am truly surrounded by people dedicated to the education of our children.  St. Pius X means so much to me. All I have to do is go into a classroom or out on the playground and see my beautiful children learning and playing, and hear the sounds of laughter and love, and I know I am in the right place.
